Object Property Management
The Design Director palette enhances productivity by providing advanced controls for layers, layer filters, creating layer sets, setting and saving work planes, controlling named views, and more.
Layer Management
Managing layers with the Design Director palette is efficient and user-friendly. The palette remains open and offers powerful tools for managing visibility, color, line widths, line styles, and more. TurboCAD® layers are AutoCAD® compatible, featuring a Layers dialog inspired by 'Design Center'.
Layer Filters
Layer Filters enable quick selection of all layers based on various criteria. Beyond file naming, they allow selection by line style, pen width, print style, and more. Layer Filters make managing large, complex drawings easy and are compatible with DWG files.
Layer Sets
Layer Sets can be created, and using either layer filters or sets allows quick changes to the visibility of large groups of layers with a single click. These include layers within externally referenced files, such as SKP, DWG, or another TCW file.
Work Planes & User Coordinate System
An understanding of work planes and how to switch between them is crucial in applications like TurboCAD® and AutoCAD®. The UCS (User Coordinate System) can be easily set by selecting a facet, with a variety of methods available to suit different needs, and then saved by naming it to a table in the Design Director. This enables switching between different work planes from a named list.
Named Views
Views can be easily jumped between with a single click when the Design Director is open. By combining this with setting the UCS (User Coordinate System) and the 3D view by the current UCS, perfectly aligned views to any work plane in the model can be achieved.
